About Us
The West Virginia Tax Institute, Inc. was incorporated as a West Virginia non-profit corporation on March 31, 1951.
The goals of the West Virginia Tax Institute are to improve the level of tax knowledge and practice and to promote cooperation among attorneys, accountants, and other interested groups.
In furtherance of these goals, the Institute annually presents the Willard H. Erwin, Jr. Award to an outstanding student at the West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business & Economics and the Thomas N. Chambers Award in Taxation to an outstanding student at the West Virginia University College of Law. Selections of these cash awards are made on the basis of interest in taxation, scholarship, character, and professional promise.
